Brew Moore
Lester Young-influenced saxophonist Brew Moore played with Claude Thornhill, Howard McGhee and others in New York City before moving to San Francisco in the mid-1950s. Once on the left coast, he worked with Cal Tjader before leading his own group for Fantasy Records. A highly regarded player, Moore was immortalized in Kerouac's Desolation Angels before tragically dying in Scandinavia after tumbling down a flight of stairs. Desolation angel, indeed.
