News Ticker: Justin Timberlake, “Guitar Hero,” Rolling Stones

Justin Timberlake has been tapped to host this year’s ESPYs, ESPN’s Excellence in Sports Performance Yearly Awards, set for July 20th in Los Angeles. Joan Jett, Cheap Trick, the Kinks and Mott the Hoople are among the other artists who will be featured on Guitar Hero: Aerosmith. The game hits stores in June. The Rolling Stones have been permitted to play Blackpool, England after the city’s council lifted a forty-four year ban. The Stones were originally banned when fifty people were hospitalized after riots broke out during a 1964 gig. Paul McCartney has paid homage to the Beatles‘ manager and mentor, Neil Aspinall, via a post on his site: “Neil was a great man who I knew even before I met any of the guys in The Beatles…I will miss him but will remember the laughs.”
