This hard-rocking band roughed it out for almost ten years before hitting the big time in 1995. Originally heavily influenced by the Replacements, the Goo Goo Dolls became more successful than ever expected. Hitting a nerve with their mainstream ballads like "Name" and "Iris," they have become ultramegamillionaires. Johnny Rzeznik grew up the youngest child of five in Buffalo, N.Y. At 16, he lost both parents within a year of each other. Rzeznik co-wrote "We Are the Normal" for the album "SuperstarCarWash" with his idol Paul Westerberg via mail.
