Redd Foxx

Redd Foxx is a pioneering comedian who broke racial barriers on television and in clubs.
Foxx performed in what was known in the 1940s as the "chitlin circuit" ? a string of black comedy clubs in the south.
In 1972, Foxx's star rose when he was cast as the grumpy Fred Sanford in the television show "Sanford and Son."
